Terms & Conditions

Article 1 – Applicability

These terms and conditions apply to all rental agreements with Concourse B.V.. By reserving or renting a bike, the renter agrees to these terms. Concourse reserves the right to amend these terms at any time. The version in effect at the time of the rental agreement applies.

Article 2 – Identification and deposit

The renter must present a valid ID (passport, identity card, or driver’s license) at pickup and agrees that a copy or note of this ID may be kept on file. A deposit of €500 per bike must be paid at the start of the rental period. The deposit will only be refunded after full inspection and return of the bike in undamaged condition.

Article 3 – Use and prohibited actions

The renter agrees to:

  • use the bike personally and not transfer it to third parties;

  • use the bike only on roads and paths where cycling is permitted;

  • refrain from races, stunts, or other risky activities unless agreed in writing;

  • not modify or alter the bike;

  • always lock the bike when unattended and take reasonable care to prevent damage or theft;

  • not use the bike under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication that impair cycling ability.

Violation of these provisions results in full liability for all damages and forfeiture of the deposit.

Article 4 – Liability, damage, and theft

The renter is fully liable for loss, theft, and/or damage to the bike and accessories, regardless of cause or fault. In case of theft, the renter must immediately report it to the police and provide a copy of the report to Concourse. Any damage or loss must be reported to Concourse immediately or at the latest upon return. The renter indemnifies Concourse against any third-party claims arising from the use of the rental bike.

If damage or loss exceeds the deposit, the excess amount will be invoiced separately.

Concourse is not liable for personal injury, material, or immaterial damages during use of the bike, except in cases of intent or gross negligence on the part of Concourse.

Article 5 – Cancellation

Cancellation is free of charge up to 24 hours before the start of the rental period. Cancellations within 24 hours are charged 50% of the rental fee. No-shows are charged 100% of the rental fee.

Article 6 – Rental period and return

The bike must be returned at the agreed time and in the same condition as received. Extensions are only possible with prior approval from Concourse. Late returns without notice may result in extra charges and/or withholding (part of) the deposit.

Article 7 – Maintenance and inspection

The bike is provided in good technical condition. The renter must check the bike’s condition before departure and report any defects immediately. During the rental period, the renter is responsible for basic maintenance (e.g., tire pressure, lubrication). Any breakdowns during use are at the renter’s risk.

Article 8 – Traffic rules and safety

The renter must comply with Dutch traffic laws and local cycling regulations. Wearing a helmet is strongly recommended but not mandatory. The renter is responsible for the safe use of the bike.

Article 9 – Force majeure

Concourse is not liable for damages resulting from force majeure, including but not limited to weather conditions, defects arising during normal use, strikes, or government measures.

Article 10 – Disputes and applicable law

 

All rental agreements are governed by Dutch law. Disputes shall be submitted exclusively to the competent court in Amsterdam.
